Our dear mother and matriarch of the family, Joyce B. (Farias) Almeida of Fall River, Massachusetts sadly passed away on June 8th, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 85. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Alfred Almeida, and her son Steven Almeida. She is survived by her daughters Susan Almeida and wife Laurie Victor, Sandra Waters, and husband Jim Waters, her most cherished grandchildren Kristina Waters and boyfriend Justin Ward, and James Waters and his fiancé Haley Walker.

Joyce had many talents, as she could brighten up any room with her eye for decorating and the gift of gab! For many years, Joyce worked as a teachers aid in Fall River and enjoyed working with children who were less fortunate. She loved cooking, hosting for guests, traveling, playing cards in her many card leagues and tending to her beautiful plants. Joyce always pulled together fabulous outfits and matching accessories. Of all, she loved spending time with her family - especially her grandchildren. Joyce was loved by so many and will be terribly missed.

Joyce's funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 14th at the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery.  A visitation will be held at Manuel Rogers Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 13th from 4:00-7:00 P.M.
