FALL RIVER - Our hearts are broken as we say good night to Judith Levitre, age 78, who passed away on June 3, 2025. She was wife of Brian Levitre, Sr. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Irene (Souza) Mello.

In her early years, she was employed at Shelburne Shirt Co., and later embraced her role as a devoted homemaker, caring deeply for her family.

Judith was a loyal Boston Red Sox fan.  She also found joy in reading, watching her favorite soap operas, and observing the planes at T.F. Green Airport as they took off and landed.

In her younger years she and her husband often enjoyed outings to the dog track and trips to Flo's in Island Park.

She loved to go to Lincoln Park and play crosscut.

Though she preferred the comforts of home, she looked forward to shopping trips to Walmart and Hannaford Market. Above all, she had a special love for all the cats that entered her home throughout the years.

She was loved and cherished by many people including her children Lorie Costa (husband David), Brian Levitre Jr. (wife Judy) and Becky Levitre; sister Joanne Maudsley and late brothers, Judith's twin Gerald "Gerry" Mello, Donald "Ducky" Mello and John T. "Rebel" Mello; grandchildren Alex Costa and Sidney Levitre, whom she adored more than anything; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by many cousins, who she missed greatly.

Judith's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Diana, her nurse, who cared for her during the last few months and became an important part of her life.

Visitation for Judith will be on Monday, June 9th from 4-7 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, June 10th.  Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
