FALL RIVER – Leonor Tavares, age 88, beloved wife of the late Joao Tavares, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 7, 2022 at the Catholic Memorial Home. Born in São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Adeline and Maria (Viveiros) Diogo. Leonor was a parishioner at Espirito Santo Church. She was a gifted and talented designer/seamstress, who was sought out by many in the community for her original designs and her family heirlooms passed down from generation to generation.

Leonor was the loving mother of Mary Pavao and her husband Antone of Swansea, John M. Tavares and his wife Michelle of CA and Dolores Albernaz and her husband Alfredo of Fall River; sister of Bertha Medeiros; grandmother of Jason & Joshua Pavao, Cheri Levesque, Tiffany Zawerucka and Matthew Albernaz; great-grandmother of Jack, Cole, Anakin, Gwenyth and Cecilia; as well her loving nieces and nephews and other family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Monday, March 14 ^th here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Espirito Santo Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
