SOMERSET –Liberio M. Barbosa, age 76 of Somerset, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021 in the comforts of his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, Liberio was the beloved husband of Guilhermina (Leite) Barbosa and the son of the late Hermano & Maria Isabel Barbosa.

Prior to retiring, Liberio had worked as a carpenter. He was a communicant of St. John of God Parish and an avid supporter and fan of SPORTING CP soccer club. But most of all, he loved spending quality time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of Somerset, Liberio is survived by his two sons: Steven Barbosa, and his girlfriend Megan Dupuis, and Jerry Barbosa, and his wife Tricia; siblings: Salvina Rego of Somerset, Hermano Barbosa of Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, Osvalda Medeiros, Lourdes Carvalho, & Jacinto Barbosa all of Fall River; four grandchildren: Hunter, Logan, Grady, & Olivia; many nieces & nephews. Liberio was also the brother of the late João Barbosa.

Liberio's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, MA. on Friday, Nov. 5 ^th here at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael's Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
