Lorraine Mello, age 94, formerly of Somerset, passed away on March 14th . Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late John and Diamantina (Martin) Costa, and also predeceased by husband Gabriel Mello, brother Edward Costa, nephew Edward Costa, Jr., and son Russell Mello.

A 1947 graduate of Durfee High School, she was employed as a bookkeeper by Cropper Florist until her retirement. For the past three years, she resided and received care at Alpine Nursing Home, Coventry, RI. She enjoyed reading, travel, gossip, and cooking as well as spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Jeff, grandson Logan, "daughter" Joan Smith, niece Diane Guay, great niece Amy Eastwood, and great nephews Robert Guay, Jonathan Guay, and Chris Costa.

A visitation for Lorraine will be held on Friday, March 22nd from 8:30-9:30 A.M. in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River. A funeral mass will follow in St. Michael's Church, at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
