FALL RIVER – Lucy A. Tavares, age 63, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2022 at Mass General Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Tavares. Born in Feteiras do Sul, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Madalena (Tavares) Pereira. Lucy was an amazing caregiver. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her granddogs Millie and Avid.

Lucy was wonderfully devoted to her 2 children Steve Tavares (wife Michelle) of NH and Erin Tavares of Fall River, along with her grandchildren Sean, twins Emma & Zoey and Aden. She was survived by her siblings Genny Sousa, John Pereira (companion Cammie Vasconcellos), Tina Monte (companion Lisa Neves) and Vanessa Matos (husband Frank); as well as several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Saturday, Jan. 8 ^th here at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Santo Christo Church at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
