FALL RIVER - In loving memory, we honor the life of Luisa Almeida, age 93, who passed away on April 1, 2025 at St. Anne's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Manuel Almeida and daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Tavares Garcia) Estrela, born in Fenais da Luz, São Miguel, Açores.

A quiet and gentle soul, Luisa's greatest joy in life was her family, especially the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren. She had a deep love for nature and found peace in her garden. A talented crafter, she created beautiful works through crochet and sewing, leaving behind treasured pieces that will be cherished for years to come.

She was loved and cherished by many people including her children Mary Baran of Fall River, John Pimentel (wife Gabriela) of Westport and Libby Phelan (husband Jay) of Dighton; grandchildren Christine Borges, Lori Pedder, the late Michael Pimentel, Miranda Phelan and Zachary Phelan; great-grandchildren Emily Borges, Jacob Pedder, Alexah Pedder, Quinn Borges and Jordan Pedder; sister Rose Camara and her late siblings Manuel Estrela, Alice Silveira, Libeira Sousa, Fatima Estrela and Lidia Torres; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Luisa will be held on Friday, April 4th from 8-9:30 A.M. in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River. A funeral mass will follow in St. Michael's Church, Fall River at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
