FALL RIVER – Manuel Camara, age 93 of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in the comforts of his home with his loving family by his side. Born and raised in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, Manuel emigrated to the United States in 1980. He was the beloved husband of 68 years to Regina (Mota) Camara and the son of the late Jose Camara and the late Maria dos Anjos (Carvalho) Camara.

Prior to retiring in 1996, Manuel worked as a maintenance man for Joan Fabrics, and he was a communicant of Santo Christo Church. At the young age of 19, Manuel entered the military and served in the Portuguese Army. Most of all, Manuel loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Manuel enjoyed caring for his animals at the farm, vacationing with his family, and cheering on his favorite soccer team, Benfica.

In addition to his Wife Regina, Manuel is survived by his 4 Children: Maria De Lurdes Botelho (husband Jose), Joe Camara (wife Grace), Maria Bertoldo (husband Carlos), and Natasha Andrade (husband Tony), all of Fall River; 2 Sisters: Maria dos Anjos Bernardo and Deodata Medeiros both of Sao Miguel, Azores; 19 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren; many nieces & nephews. Manuel was the brother of the late Antonio, Gilberto, Jose Camara, Maria Conceicao Souza, and Isabel Mauricio.

Manuel's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, here at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at Santo Christo Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
