N. Dartmouth-  Manuel Cabral Pereira de Melo, age 92, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 26th.  Born in Sao Vincente, Acores, he was the son of the late Jose Cabral de Melo and Maria da Conceicao (Pereira) de Melo.  He was the loving husband of the late Maria Inez (Jorge) de Melo.

Prior to Manuel's retirement he was a machine operator for a paper box company.  He loved spending time outside and enjoyed working in the garden.  Manuel always looked forward to traveling to St. Michael's, Azores.  He was a self taught keyboardist and loved to play. Manuel liked watching TV with Jacks but most of all loved spending time with his family.

Manuel was the caring father of Joseph Mello (wife Frances) of NJ, Debra August (husband Scott) of N. Dartmouth and David De Mello (wife Diane) of Westport; brother of Maria Inez da Silva of Canada; grandfather of Delia, Scott, Kevin, Amanda, RJ and Scotty Mo.; Great-grandfather of Owen and Max.

His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday, January 31st  at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Espirito Santo Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
