SOMERSET - Manuela Travassos, a devoted wife, mother, and woman of deep faith, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 5th, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. She was 90 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Gabriel Travassos. Born in Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of Antonio and Maria (Pimental) Pereira.

Manuela lived a beautiful, humble life centered entirely on the things that mattered most to her: her family, her home, and her devotion to God. While others sought outside hobbies, Manuela found absolute fulfillment within the walls of her home and her church. Her heart was completely full.

She was a truly remarkable cook who expressed her love through wonderful meals that brought everyone together. She also took immense pride in keeping a spotless, welcoming home, viewing the care of her household as a gift to her family. Her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering faith guided every single day of her life.

Manuela is survived by her children, grandchildren, and many loved ones who will forever miss her gentle presence. She is now resting peacefully in the arms of her Lord, reunited with her siblings, Raymond Pereira, Luciano Pereira, Eduardo P. Pereira, and her sister, Maria Isabel Sousa, who passed away just hours before her.

In keeping with Manuela's strict wishes for simplicity, services will be private for her immediate family. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River. To send the family Expressions of Sympathy, please click the Guest Book below. You may also light a candle in honor of Manuela.
