Marcelino M Melo passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Maria Fatima (Borges) Melo. Born in Povoacao, São Miguel, Açores, to the late Manuel Cabral Caetano and Maria Moniz.

He will be remembered for taking pride in his work, and for ensuring that his family was always supported. His meticulous nature carried over to a passion for home maintenance projects, and he could frequently be found landscaping his yard. He had a special fondness for animals, including his three dogs; Princess, Abby and Debbie. In retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed being a homebody, and relaxing with his wife and family.

He is survived by many people including his children Marcelino F Melo, Carlos Melo, Gualter Melo, Sonia Bjerre and her husband Erik, Marco Melo and David Melo; grandchildren Claire Bjerre, James Bjerre, Ethan Melo, Kaiden Melo, Mercedes Melo, Jessica Melo and Alexia Melo; siblings Honorina Pacheco, Fatima Sousa and Tereza Caetano as well as many nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday, June 30th at 12 P.M. at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
