Cabral
Sep 27, 1940 — Apr 22, 2026
Somerset
SOMERSET - In loving memory, we honor the life of Margaret Cabral, age 85, who passed away peacefully at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence with her loving son by her side. She was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late William Cabral. Born in Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Maria (Couto) Botelho.
Margaret will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend whose life was rooted in faith, family, and hard work. She worked for Essex Manufacturing for many years and later at Quaker Fabric, building a strong work ethic that carried through every part of her life. A longtime parishioner and dedicated volunteer, she gave generously of her time, including helping prepare the traditional malasadas for church feasts. Married for over 50 years, she and her husband built a loving home where she raised her son and grandchildren. She took pride in caring for others in the simple, meaningful ways she knew best, often expressed through her cooking and hospitality. Known fondly for her famous chicken salad sandwiches, Margaret also enjoyed gardening and found joy in visiting Portugal to stay connected with her family. Her life was marked by quiet dedication, strong family bonds, and a deep sense of community that will be remembered by all who knew her.
Along with her son Jason Cabral and his wife Lisa, she was loved and cherished by many people including her grandchildren Logan and Kailey Cabral; brothers John Botelho (wife Fatima) of Dighton and Tony Botelho (wife Orminda) of Fall River; nieces and nephews Stacey, Jeff, Sally and the late Bobby Botelho; as well several other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Margaret's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center for the compassionate and gentle care they provided to Margaret during her time there. They are also especially thankful to those friends and family for the devoted support and kindness they showed in caring for her during her most difficult moments.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday, April 29th here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael's Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours on Tuesday, April 28th from 4-7 P.M.
