FALL RIVER – Margaret Pacheco Rego, age 76 and a longtime resident of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 in the comforts of her home with her loving and caring family by her side. Born on Sep. 18, 1946 in Furnas, São Miguel, Azores, Margaret was the beloved wife of Luis Rego and the daughter of the late Angelo I. Medeiros and the late Maria doCarmo (Elizardo) Medeiros.

Prior to retiring, Margaret worked for Lightolier Mfg. as an assembler. She was very devoted to St. Michael's Church, along with her husband, working countless hours in the Church kitchen with her friends during the annual parish feast and the regular fund-raising parish dinners.

Margaret and her husband Luis loved to take trips with their family and also with their group of close friends. She looked forward to Sunday afternoon gatherings at her son's house and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Luis, Margaret is survived by her daughter, Michelle Pavao (husband Brian) of Fall River; her son, Robert Rego (wife Allyson) of Fall River; a brother, Angelo P. Medeiros of Taunton; two grandchildren, Coryn Paradise and Trooper Robert "Robbie" Rego Jr.; several nieces & nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her two sisters, Mariana Elizardo and Susana Lopes.

Margaret's family would like to thank her team of doctors which included her oncologist Dr. Jeffrey Barnes and his team at Mass General Hospital, Dr. Phillip Song and his team at Mass Eye & Ear, and Dr. Donna Roy and staff at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Center.
These Dr's and their teams helped Margaret fight her courageous battle with cancer.

Margaret's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Thursday, July 6th here at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael's Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
