We are sad to announce that on December 6, 2022, at the age of 59, Maria Dos Anjos Novo of Fall River passed away unexpectedly at St. Anne's Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Messias Novo, and born in Remédios da Bretanha , São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of Maria (Sousa) Aguiar and the late Antonio Aguiar. Maria worked as a secretary for the Portuguese Times for over 15 years.

Along with her husband she was loved and cherished by her son Jo ão Novo and his wife Tania of Westport; grandchildren Leah Sylvain, Benjamin Novo, Landen Novo, Cohen Novo and Hayden Novo; cousin Eugenia Costa and her husband Samuel and their daughter Allie Costa; as well as many nieces and nephews and other family members.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian burial at Espirito Santo Church at 10 A.M. on Monday, December 12 ^th . Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours on Sunday, December 11 ^th from 1-4 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River.
