FALL RIVER – Maria C. Sousa, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Adelino DoRego Sousa. Born in São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Mariana (Melo) DaCamara. Maria was a life long member of St. Michael's Church. She immigrated to the U.S. with her family in 1967. Maria LOVED her cats, Daisy and Princess and the late Spanky and Twinkie. She also loved to crochet. Most of all she loved spending time and caring for her family, especially her great-grandson.

Maria is survived by her children Jose Manuel Sousa of East Weymouth, MA, Maria Lucilia Cabral (husband Gabriel) of Fall River and Lurdes Sousa of Fall River; sister Maria Isabel Duarte of Fall River; granddaughters Kim Cabral and Jennifer Cabral of Fall River; great-grandson Tayven Cabral and nephew Carlos Duarte. She was predeceased by her brother Manuel DaCamara.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday, Oct. 26 ^th here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael's Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
