Maria (Carreiro) Ferreira, age 86 of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Mill Brook Nursing Care Center. Born in St. Michael, Azores, Maria was the wife of the late Luis Ferreira, and the daughter of the late Manuel O. & Georgina (Machado) Carreiro. Maria was also predeceased by her sons Dennis & John Ferreira, and also by her sister Almorinda Cabral.

Maria received her U.S. Citizenship in 1998, and had worked as a sewing machine operator for 36 years at the former Shelburne Shirt Co. and then for Vanson Leather Mfg. Co. She was also a parishioner of Good Shepherd Parish.

Maria is survived by her sons Louis Ferreira, Michael Ferreira, Steven Ferreira; her brother Joseph O. Carreiro: grandchildren Shayna Lee Ferreira, Steven Louis Ferreira, John Louis Ferreira, and David Wendowski.

Maria's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at Good Shepherd Parish, S.
