FALL RIVER – Maria M. Cunha, age 81 of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sep. 21, 2022 in the comforts of her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Fenais da Luz, São Miguel, Azores, Maria was the beloved wife of the late Teodomiro Da Cunha and the daughter of the late Jose Botelho De Sousa & Jorgina De Sousa.

Maria was a stay-at-home mom. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother, who dedicated her life to raising her family and also helping to raise her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Carlos Cunha, Ana Cunha, Pedro Cunha (wife Carla), and Vera Cunha (companion Peter DeCosta) all of Fall River; 9 grandchildren; nieces & nephews. Maria was also the sister of the late Ernesto Sousa.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Saturday, Sep. 24 ^th with a visitation from 8:30-9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Michael's Church at 10:00 AM. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
