Somerset – Maria "Connie" Dias (Rego) , age 77, of Somerset, passed away at Charlton Memorial Hospital on February 1, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Capelas , St Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Christina (Dias) Rego.  She was the loving wife of Bento C. Dias.

Prior to her retirement, Connie worked as a seamstress in the local mills.  She loved to dance when she was younger and as she grew older, she enjoyed listening to music and playing cards. Most of all, Connie loved her family. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, godmother and friend. She will truly be missed.

Besides her loving husband of fifty three years , Connie is survived by her children; Christina Souza and her husband Robert from Somerset, Richard Dias and his fiancé Karen Rodrigues from Somerset , and Robert Dias from Somerville . ; her siblings; Olivia Martins from Dartmouth and Isabel Mello from Fairhaven; her grandchildren; Alexandra, Samantha and Kylie Souza; her goddaughter and caretaker Sandra Oliveira; as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Joseph Rego.

The Manuel Rogers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Private services will be held for family .
