FALL RIVER – Maria (Pereira) Farias, age 92 of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 25, 2022 in the comforts of her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Remédios da Bretanha, São Miguel, Açores, Maria was the beloved wife of the late Alfredo Farias and the daughter of the late Manuel Caetano Pereira and the late Matilde da Gloria (Arruda) Pereira.

Maria was a Communicant of Espirito Santo Church, and loved to cook for her family. Maria worked hard raising her 10 children and later in life helping to raise her many grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Manuel Farias, Joao Luis Farias, Marcia Rego, Teresa Farias, Maria do Carmo da Silva, Fatima de Sousa, Guilhermina Costa, Donatilde Calzada, and Mario Farias; siblings: Rosa Borges & Teresa Costa; many grandchildren; many great grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; & many nieces & nephews. Maria was predeceased by her son: Alfred Farias; her granddaughter: Raquel Moniz; and her brother Joao Caetano Pereira.

A visitation for Maria will take place in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, MA. on Monday, March 28 ^th from 8:00 – 9:00 A.M. followed by a funeral mass in Espirito Santo Church, Alden St. at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
