Maria De Fatima De Freitas, 76 of Fall River, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Armando DeFreitas.

Born in Lagoa, São Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Da Silva Correia and Guilhermina (Ferreira) Correia.

Fatima worked at Tillotson Rubber Co. in Fall River for several years when she immigrated to America with her family.  She was an amazing cook and went on to open a restaurant with her late husband "Restaurant Furnas" in Fall River until she retired.  Fatima enjoyed traveling with her husband to her homeland Furnas during their retirement.  One of her favorite pass times was "Face-Timing" with her family and friends on her iPad.  She loved being surrounded by her family, and she was a devoted wife, loving mother and an adoring grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She leaves four children, Luis Freitas and his wife Connie of Somerset, Gabriela Camara of Fall River, Lucia Rodrigues and her husband Mario of Fall River, Ana Paula Medeiros and her husband Mario of East Providence, eight grandchildren, Alexander Freitas and his wife Meagan, Raphael Camara, Cameron Freitas, Emily Rodrigues, Ethan Medeiros, Marisol Camara, Timothy Rodrigues, Leanna Medeiros, and one great-grandson, Daniel Freitas. She also leaves one brother, Antonio Manuel Correia of São Miguel, Azores, one sister Maria Dos Anjos Andrade of Montreal, Canada. She was the sister of the late Edmundo Correia, and Rosa Maria Carvalho.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 8:30-10:30 AM in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael's Church at 11:00 A.M.  Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.
