FALL RIVER – Maria Imaculada Furtado, age 77 of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023 at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Povocão, São Miguel, Azores, Maria was the widow of Luis M. Furtado and the daughter of the late Antonio C. Melo and the late Maria da Conceicão Raposo Melo.

Prior to retiring, Maria worked at Trina Mfg. as a floor person, and she was a communicant of St. Michael's Church. She also loved to spend time with her family.

She is survived by her Children: Paula Furtado Amaral of Canada, Luis Furtado, Roger Furtado, Antonio Furtado, Ines Furtado Alves all of Fall River, Jose Furtado (wife Stephanie) of Somerset, and Rui Furtado (fiancée Rachel Powers) of Fall River; siblings: Maria Inez Furtado of Fall River, Cecilia Medeiros (husband Duarte) of Florida, Maria dos Anjos Sá, and Maria Odelia Silva, both of São Miguel, Azores, many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.

Visitation for Maria, will take place in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, on Tuesday, March 7th from 8:30 A.M.-10:15 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Michael's Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
