WESTPORT – Maria da Gloria Miranda, age 92 of Westport, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2022 in the comforts of her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Remedios da Bretanha, São Miguel, Açores and raised in São Vincente Ferreira, São Miguel, Açores, Maria was the beloved wife of the late Manuel P. Miranda and the daughter of the late Antonio Miguel Albernaz and the late Maria da Gloria (Miguel) Albernaz.

Prior to retiring, Maria worked as a Cloth Inspector lastly at Shelburne Shirt Co. She was a communicant of Espirito Santo Church and a member of their Holy Rosary Society. Maria also attended Prayer Groups at Espirito Santo Church in Fall River & at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in New Bedford. She was a World Traveler and enjoyed visiting La Salette Shrine on a weekly basis. Most of all, Maria loved to spend time with her very large family.

Survivors include her Children: Zelia Miranda (Joseph) of Deltona, Fl, Zita Dias (Oscar) of Tiverton, the late Horacio Miranda, Noreen Cambio (Joe) of N. Scituate, Maria da Fatima Diniz (Joe) of Fall River, Simon Miranda (Elizabeth of Westport, Natalie Demers (Chris) of Deltona, FL, Joseph Miranda (Zelia) of Westport & Lucia Borges (Eddy) of Westport; Sisters: Delfina Borges of Fall River, & Margarida M. Torres of Westport; 26 Grandchildren; 36 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; many Nieces & Nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel M. Albernaz, Antonio M. Albernaz, & Francisco M. Albernaz.

Maria's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, MA. on Tuesday, April 12 ^th here at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in Espirito Santo Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
