SWANSEA – Maria "Adelaide" (Saraiva) Goncalves, age 74 of Swansea, peacefully passed away on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025 with her loving family by her side. Born in Chaves, Portugal to the late Antonio Saraiva and the late Aida (Terraquente) Saraiva, and the beloved wife of Frank S. Goncalves.

Maria had worked as the Housekeeper for St. Michael's Rectory from 1970-1981, a Floor Manager for Family Sportswear from 1981-2008, and lastly as a C.N.A. at Clifton Nursing Care Center from 2009 until her retirement in 2015.

In addition to her husband Frank, Maria is survived by her daughters Ana Pimentel, and Elizabeth Goncalves Rego (husband Michael); her cherished grandson Ethan Pimentel; siblings Daniel Jorge Saraiva, Orlando Saraiva, Antonio Saraiva, Jose Saraiva, Maria Fatima Ferreira, and Edward Saraiva; many nieces & nephews.

Maria's visitation will take place on Saturday, Dec. 20th from 9-11 AM in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Michael's Church at 11:30 AM. Cremation to follow. To send the family Expressions of Sympathy, please click the Guest Book below.
