We are sad to announce that on October 23, 2023, at the age of 76, Maria S. Moniz of Westport passed away at St. Luke's Hospital. Beloved spouse of the late Jóse F. Moniz, and born in city Ponta Garça, São Miguel, Açores, daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Matos) Frias. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Michael's Parish. Maria loved to spend time with her family and especially the family dog, Nismo.

She was loved and cherished by many people including her daughter Rosemary Motta with her husband Tony and their son Jordan of Westport; her sister Fatima Frias of Westport; as well as several other family and friends who will miss her. She was predeceased by Manuel, Antero, Antonio and Jóse Frias.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday, October 26th here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael's Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours on Wednesday, October 25th from 5-8 P.M.
