FALL RIVER- The world lost a bright light with the passing of Maria (Conceicão) Silva, age 69, who passed peacefully on June 2, 2026 at her residence surrounded by loved ones. She was the wife of Alfredo D. Silva. Born in Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter to the late Jose DoRego and Diamantina (Rego) DoRego.

She was a loving and devoted woman who found great joy in caring for her home and family. She loved to cook and took pride in creating a warm and welcoming environment for those she loved. A hardworking and dedicated person, she approached everything she did with determination. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her so much happiness. From celebrating special occasions, sharing meals, or simply enjoying each other's company, she valued the time she spent with her loved ones above all else. She also enjoyed shopping and dressing up, always taking pleasure in looking her best. A woman of strong faith, she was a devoted parishioner of St. Michael's Church.

She survived by her daughter: Lesley Martins; stepchildren: David DaSilva, Maria N. Sousa, Ana Silva, Mark Silva and Helen Silva Vultao; siblings: Joao Rego, Maria Rogue, Fatima Rego, Natalia Amaral and Luis Sousa; grandchildren: Vanessa Martins, Nicholas Williams and Christopher Ramos; 7 step-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her son Jeffrey Martins and her brother Jose Sousa.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday, June 9th here at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michaels Church at 11 A.M. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours on Monday, June 8th from 5-8 P.M.
