Maria Isabel (Pimental Pereira) Sousa, 97 of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026 at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, Maria was the beloved wife of the late Manuel De Sousa and the daughter of the late Antonio Victorino Pereira and the late Maria Alzira (Pimental) Pereira.

Prior to retiring, Maria worked as a presser at the local garment factories. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church, and loved to cook for her family and friends.

Maria is survived by her sons Luis C. Sousa and his wife Aldora M. Sousa, and Gabriel P. Sousa and his wife Ana Sousa; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. Maria was predeceased by her children Alzira P. Sousa, Peter P. Sousa, and Edward P. Sousa. She was also the sister of the late Manuela M. Travassos, Raimundo P. Pereira, Luciano Pereira, and Edward Pereira.

Maria's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Tuesday, June 16th at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Michael's Church at 10:00 AM.
