Maria Isabel (Torres) Resendes, age 91 of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Mill Brook Rehab & Healthcare center. Born in Agua Retorta, São Miguel, Açores, Maria was the wife of the late Boaventura Resendes and the daughter of the late Antonio Resendes Torres and Maria Isabel Torres. She was predeceased by her siblings Antone, Luis, Joseph, & Alfred Torres, Madeline Do Monte, and Margaret Resendes.

Prior to retiring, Maria worked as a machine operator for both Anderson Little and South Bay Coat Co. She was an incredible crocheter, crocheting many blankets and just about anything that could be thought of. She was also a great seamstress, creating so many things for family & friends. Maria loved to travel, and took pride in always being well dressed.

Maria is survived by her 2 daughters Suzanne DeAlmeida (Flavio) and Elizabeth Resendes; her sister Antoinet Overlock; 2 grandchildren Clifford Medeiros and Melissa DeAlmeida; 3 great grandchildren Matthew, Olivia, & Benjamin; many nieces & nephews.
