SOMERSET - We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mary J. Almeida, age 82, who passed away on July 22, 2025 at Clifton Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. She was born on December 29, 1942 in Fall River. She was the wife to the late John Almeida, born in Fall River daughter of the late Stephen F. Soares and Helen "Lena" (Furtado) Soares.

She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent many years as a Shipping Coordinator at C.C.L. in Cumberland, Rhode Island. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her love for life and family. She found joy in the simple pleasures—camping under the stars, singing her heart out at karaoke. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family, sharing stories, laughter, and love. Her warmth, spirit, and devotion to those she held dear will be forever remembered.

Mary is survived by: Children; John Almeida, Susanne Alves (husband Joe), Wayne Almeida and Michael Almeida (wife Jessica); Siblings: Stephen Soares, Joseph Soares, John "John the mail man" Soares, William "Billy" Soares; Grandchildren; Kendra Almeida, Ashley Alves, Makayla Almeida and Michael Almeida; Great-Grandchild; Charolette Cooper; several nieces and nephews. Mary was proceeded in death by her grandchild Ryan Alves.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Monday, July 28th here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian St. Dominics at 10 A.M.
