TIVERTON - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Joan Boudria, age 88, passed peacefully at home on August 17, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Royal Boudria. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late John and Maria (Ferreira) Ventura.

Before her retirement, Joan dedicated many years working as a clerk, always bringing kindness and care to those around her. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted Catholic and longtime parishioner of Holy Trinity Parish. She cherished the seasons she spent in Frostproof, Florida, where she formed lasting friendships and brought joy to many through her spirited performances in local variety shows as her beloved character, "Zelda."

Joan's happiest moments were those shared with her family—gatherings filled with laughter, love, and togetherness. Though she enjoyed these times dearly, she also treasured the simple comforts of home, where she found peace in quiet evenings with a good book. Joan will be remembered for her warmth, her gentle spirit, and the love she so freely gave to everyone who knew her.

She was loved and cherished by many people including her children Valerie Kochan and her husband Matthew of Somerset and Christopher Boudria of Berkley; grandsons Matthew Kochan and his wife Linda of Fall River and Jonathan Kochan of Somerset; her beloved sister and best friend Pauline Freitas of Swansea; in-laws Ted and Norma Boudria of Westport and Cornel and Maura Boudria of Dartmouth; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday, August 21st here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Holy Trinity Parish at 10 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Wednesday, August 20th from 4-8 P.M.
