FALL RIVER – Mary "Maria Santo Christo" Moniz, age 89 of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023 at Catholic Memorial Home. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Mary was the beloved wife of John Moniz and the daughter of the late Jaime Raposo and the late Filomena (Correia) Raposo.

Prior to retiring, Mary worked as a Seamstress in the local garment mills. She was a member of the former Portuguese American Baptist Church, and most of all, Mary loved to spend time with her family.

In addition to her husband John, Mary is survived by her 2 sons: Michael Moniz of Somerset, and David Moniz of Seekonk; and 6 grandchildren.

Mary's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023 with a service in the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. Interment to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Calling hours on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023 from 4-7 P.M.
