It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love.  It is especially difficult for family and friends to say goodbye to the beloved Mary E. Simpson of Tiverton, who passed away at the age of 69, on August 3, 2022. Mary was born in Taunton to the late James and Elizabeth (Carvalho) McQuade, and happily married to the late Kenneth Simpson for 35 years.

Mary was cherished and will be missed by many, including her daughters Lisa DeJesus (husband Michael) of Fall River and Jennifer Cardona (husband Peter Arruda) of Swansea. She was predeceased by her step-son David Simpson. Mary was the sister of Cynthia Patricio of Fall River and sister-in-law of Alfred Patricio; grandmother of Jared Mota (wife Alison), Jayden Mota, Alexander Arruda, Cora DeJesus, and Logan Arruda; great-grandmother of Jackson Mota. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mary enjoyed a life rich in love and shared memories, and a long career in medical billing.  Mary was an active member of the Tiverton Senior Center Club. She loved embarking on cruises with her late husband, and their family.  She enjoyed baking and spoiling her grandchildren, showing up at every party with baked goods and too many presents for birthdays and holidays.  Mary was a bright light to so many, with a funny story to share at every dinner.  She was fortunate to celebrate the births and young lives of her grandsons and granddaughter, and most recently a great-grandson.

Following cremation, please join in celebrating Mary's life. Visitation will take place in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N.
