ASSONET – MaryLou "Lurdes" (Almeida) Miranda, age 65 and a resident of Assonet, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 in the comforts of her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Remedios da Bretanha, São Miguel, Açores, Lurdes was the beloved wife of Ronaldo P. Miranda and the daughter of the late Antonio & Maria V. (Martins) Almeida.

Lurdes had been the proud owner of Michael's Provisions, a family-owned business. She was also a parishioner of St. John of God Church. One of Lurdes favorite past times was spending quality time with her large family, extended family and friends, especially during the holidays and her annual New Years Parties which she hosted for over 30 years.

In addition to her husband Ronaldo of Assonet, Lurdes is survived by her son: Eric Miranda (Emily) of Assonet; her grandson: Anthony Miranda, whom she adored; siblings: Helena Tavares (Cesar), Odelia Mello (Antonio), Evangelina Goncalo (Jose), Connie Pimental (Carlos), Sandra Carvalho (Joaquin), Aldina Borges (George), Antonio Almeida (Dolores), Jose Almeida (Elis), Filomena Ponte (Frank), Peter Almeida (Lucy), and Paul Almeida; many nieces & nephews.
