Somerset-  Matthew George Mello, age 35, passed away unexpectedly on August 28th. Born in Fall River, he was the son of Heather (Kaszyk) Alves and step-father Gregory Alves.

Besides his parents, Matt leaves behind; his sister Jessica Alves and Richard Ravenscroft (husband); his brother Tyler Alves; his grandmother Beverly Costa; and the absolute love of his life, Megan Furtado and their daughter and son, Mattie and Kamdyn, who are due later this fall, who Matt loved more than words could ever express. Matt has been reunited with his loved ones who had passed; grandfather, Peter J. Kaszyk; grandparents, Marie and Norman LaForce; grandparents, Nancy and Jack Alves.

Matt enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being a barber, working out at the gym and was proud of his physical achievements, which he matched perfectly with his sense of fashion. Matt's smile brought warmth and sincerity, but behind that was a goofy and more often than not, dry sense of humor.

Behind Matt's tough exterior, was a man who held a deep love for his family and friends, was one who had the upmost respect for his elders and who would give to those in need when he could.
