Michael Anthony
Cowen
Sep 23, 1972 — Dec 18, 2025
Fall River
Michael Anthony Cowen, 53, of Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away on December 18, 2025.
Born on September 23, 1972, in Fall River, he was the beloved son of the late Geraldine Cowen. Michael spent many years as a manager with Friendly's before dedicating over 21 years to the USDA, working as an inspector throughout the Massachusetts and Rhode Island districts. He took great pride in his work and in the relationships he built there.
Michael was full of personality—funny, loving, and sometimes a little grumpy in the most endearing way, always unapologetically himself. He loved to cook, eat, and visit the casino, with Foxwoods being his favorite, especially for the slot machines. A talented pool player, he also loved spending hours shopping for food, hunting bargains and using coupons.
At home, he adored his beloved "baby" dog Freedom, a Chihuahua–Miniature Pinscher mix, and his two cats Ella and Abbey, who meant the world to him. Michael enjoyed scary movies, cooking shows, game shows, and never missed Days of Our Lives. He also had a deep love for coffee, which was a cherished part of his daily routine.
Michael is survived by his loving husband, Felipe Marin-Cowen, who cherished every moment they shared together. He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Cowen.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his humor, his passions, and the joy he brought to those who knew and loved him. The family is arranging a private gathering to honor Michael's life; no public services will be held.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, Fall River.
