Norbert "Nib" T. Flores, age 87 of Swansea, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024 at St. Anne's Hospital with his loving family by his side. Norbert was the beloved husband of Vivian (Martin) Flores, married for 48 years, and the son of the late Adelino & Sadie (Mello) Flores.

Norbert was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a paratrooper for the 82nd Airborne. He retired as a captain from the MA Dept. of Corrections - Norfolk facility.

Norbert cared deeply about the world and its inhabitants and wanted to leave the world a better place than he found it. A true empath, he was passionate about social justice and never stopped learning how to open his heart to others. He was also an avid animal lover that frequently requested animal welfare donations in place of birthday presents.

Throughout his life, Norbert found joy in traveling the world with his wife, sharing laughter with his grandchildren, listening to Frank Sinatra, and cheering on his beloved sports teams with a specific New England enthusiasm.

In addition to his wife Vivian, Norbert is survived by his daughter Judy Silvia (husband Brian Nolan) of Melrose, MA; 2 grandchildren, Miranda & Kyle Nolan; sister, Lucille Medeiros (husband Robert) of Fall River, nieces & nephews and was preceded in death by his brother, Adelino Flores (wife Claire) of Fall River.

A celebration of Norbert's life will take place on April 13, 10:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, MA. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal humane society or hospice.

Norbert's cremation services are under the direction of the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, Fall River, MA.
