Norberto D. Moniz, age 98 of Winston-Salem, of Fall River and North Carolina, peacefully passed away on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Soares) Moniz and the son of the late João Jacinto Moniz and the late Maria dos Anjos (Duarte) Moniz.

Born in Fenais da Luz, São Miguel, Azores. He immigrated to the United States in 1944 and lived in Fall River until moving to North Carolina in 2020 for the last four years. He was a retired loom fixer from Quaker Fabrics.

Norbert is survived by one daughter Nancy M. Trainor and her husband Robert J. Trainor; one grandson Zachary R. Trainor and one great grandson Mars Chasteen Trainor of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Two siblings, Fernando and Joseph Moniz of Fall River and several nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He was the brother of the late Joao Moniz, and sister Maria Julieta Carreiro.

Norbert's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025 here at 9:00 A.M. followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph's Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
