SOMERSET – Odelia (Mello) Griffin, age 76, a resident of Somerset and previously of Fall River, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at home. Born on May 17, 1946 in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores, Odelia was the daughter of the late Manuel Mello and the late Olivia (Fernandes Rego) Mello.

Prior to retiring, Odelia had worked in the Fall River Textile Mills as a sewing machine operator. She loved cooking for her family, watching movies, and gardening. Most of all, Odelia loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, whom she always called "Vavo's Babies".

Odelia is survived by her children: Helen Correia of Fall River, MA, Debbra Irving (Patrick) of Mountain Top, PA, Sandra Griffin (Gregory Rego) of Somerset, MA, and John Paul Griffin Jr. (Lisa) of Jewett City, CT; siblings: Maria Oliveira, the late Madeline Mello, Anibel Mello, Dina Partaker, the late Edward Mello, and Louis Mello; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; nieces & nephews.
