Obituary

Fall River –Paul E. Gillett, age 62, passed away suddenly on December 29 th .  Born in Fall River he was the son of Jacqueline (Barrette) Gillett and the late Earl Gillett.  He was the loving husband of Carol (Sutton) Gillett for 38 years and for forty-four years, he was her best friend and her rock.

Paul was an auto mechanic most of his life, he always enjoyed working with his hands.  He loved spending time outdoors, especially when  fishing.  Fishing was honestly his favorite pastime, whether it be out on the ocean without a stretch of land in sight or on the calm waters of Lake George, it was his second happiest place he could be, the first was with his family.  He was a history buff, liked listening to classic rock and at times could be quite the stubborn Aquarius, but he made up for it with his cooking.  He perfected his chow mein recipe and was always trying out something new.  His granddaughter just recently bought him a wok so he could perfect cooking fried rice.  His grand daughters were his absolute pride and joy, there wasn't a moment that passed that Paul wasn't proud of them or his daughter.  He was truly a wonderful son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and will be so deeply missed.

Besides his mother Jacqueline and his wife Carol, Paul is survived by his daughter; Melissa Carbone of E. Providence, RI and her husband Tony; his siblings; Gary Gillett and wife Chris of Swansea, Brenda Gillett L'Heureux of Fall River, Donna Jacob and husband Tony of St. Petersburg, F.L. and Joanne Gillett-Muritala and husband Abdulai of Providence; his granddaughters; Arianna and Meadow Carbone of E. Providence, R.I., and his "grand dog" Charlie. Paul was also uncle to many nieces and nephews.Besides his father Earl, Paul was predeceased by his buddy of 12 years, his chocolate lab, Cohen.

Following Paul's wishes and there will be no services.  The Manuel Rogers Funeral Home is assisting the family.  To share a memory, a story or offer a condolence please visit www.rogersfuneral.com
