Raoul "Roy" J.  Medeiros, 74, of Somerset, husband of Nancy (Joaquim) Medeiros for fifty-three years, passed away with his family by his side on July 11th.  Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Raoul and Nina (Frederick) Medeiros.

Prior to retirement, Roy served in the United States Army and was later employed at the Newport Naval Base.  He enjoyed boating, fishing in Watuppa Pond, "Jeeping", and working in his garage.

Despite his health challenges, he always maintained a positive outlook on life.  Roy would tell everyone and anyone that he was "the richest man in the world" because he was so rich in family and immensely grateful.

Besides his loving wife Nancy, Roy is survived by his son, Neil, his daughter-in-law, Andria, and his pride and joy, his grandson, Nathan.  He also leaves behind his sisters Jayne Timberlake (husband Tom), Cheryl Levesque (husband Brian), Joyce Fastino (husband John), Sharyn Medeiros; three brother-in-laws, William Joaquim Jr. (companion Michelle), Wayne Joaquim (wife Madonna), and Don Pelletier; and many nieces and nephews: Billy, Jennifer, Shawn, Nick, Jonathan, Daniel, and Jaime.  He was predeceased by his parents, his beautiful sister, Gayle Pelletier, and his dear nephew, Wayne Joaquim Jr.

Family and friends are invited to attend a service for Roy on Saturday, July 22nd, at 11:30 A.M. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N.
