Raymond Rego
Machado
Jun 18, 1945 — Aug 25, 2025
FALL RIVER — The world lost a bright light with the passing of Raymond Rego Machado, age 80, on August 25, 2025, at Catholic Memorial Home. A lifelong resident of Fall River, Raymond was the devoted husband of Alda (Carreiro) Machado for 58 wonderful years. He was the son of the late Francisco Rego Machado and Mary (Andrade) Machado.
Raymond dedicated his working years to caring for others, serving as a custodian at Espirito Santo School and later providing maintenance at Fall River Nursing Home. His pride in his work was matched only by his many talents. A skilled woodworker and car enthusiast, he found joy in the simple pleasures—polishing his vehicle to a shine, capturing life's moments through photography, and cheering on his favorite wrestling matches.
Above all, Raymond treasured time with his family. He especially loved camping trips and treating his loved ones to an Awful Awful at Newport Creamery. He was a proud member of St. Vincent de Paul, living a life rooted in service and compassion.
He is survived by his son Raymond J. Machado and wife Nicole of Westport; grandchildren Scott Machado (wife Amy), Mason Machado (wife Hannah), and Sarah Machado (Star); and great-grandchildren Abel, Julianna, Joshua, Dakota, Everly, Kacy, and Mia. He was predeceased by his brother Frank R. Machado.
Family and friends are invited to honor Raymond's life at Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, on Thursday, September 4th, beginning at 9 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Espirito Santo Church at 10 A.M.. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd, from 4–7 P.M.
The Machado family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Catholic Memorial Home for the compassionate care Raymond received.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raymond's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping others.
