Fall River

Obituary

FALL RIVER - After a courageous battle with cancer, Renée M. (Fiola) Homen of Fall River and formerly of Tiverton, RI, passed away May 9, 2026 at Millbrook Nursing Center. She was 58 years old.  Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Rochelle I. (Destremps) Ferry.

To those who knew Renée knew she was a fighter. For the last 33 years, she fought chronic health issue after chronic health issue, but never giving up. In spite of her health she raised a family and put herself through and graduated from nursing school. Being a nurse was a source of pride for Renée, although it had been several years since she had practiced.

Renée was a simple lady who found enjoyment in reading, writing (she was always good for a handwritten letter), losing herself in movies (an avid collector of DVDs) and reruns of her favorite true crime/police procedural television shows.

She was a woman of Christ and her unwavering faith is what got her through the greatest challenge she was faced with in her cancer diagnosis. She was a member of Christ Temple in Tiverton, RI.

At the end of the day, her daughters Jenn and Sam, whom she shared with her former husband David Homen of Tiverton, RI, were her greatest blessings. However, the absolute joys and lights of her life, the four who could do no wrong in her eyes, were her grandchildren who called her NayNay.

Renée is survived by her daughters: Jennifer Wolfe (husband Nicholas) of Tiverton, RI  and Samantha Lebeau (husband Craig) of Swansea, Ma; grandchildren Adalie and Brahm Wolfe and Hunter and Wyatt Lebeau; brothers Bert Fiola (Wendy) of Dighton, Ma, Jason Fiola (Holly) of Berkley, Ma and Chad Fiola of Swansea, Ma; her chosen sister Jodi Capone of Fall River, Ma; her best cousin sister Melissa Sousa of Fall River, Ma; as well as several nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Please join in celebrating her life, following cremation, on June 3rd from 5-7 P.M. at Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N Main St. in Fall River.
