Richard A.
Beliveau
May 31, 1937 — Sep 7, 2024
SOMERSET - We are sad to announce that on September 7, 2024, we had to say goodbye to Richard A. Beliveau, at the age of 87. He was the beloved husband to Bertha (Coffey) Beliveau for 63 years. Born in Northampton, MA, he was the son of the late Clarence and Clair (LaFleur) Beliveau and younger brother to Leona Beliveau & Linda Poole from Florence, MA.
Along with his wife, he was loved and cherished by his daughter Michele Beliveau of Cumberland, RI, son William "Clark" Beliveau of Fall River and godfather to Leslie M. Conners of Medfield, MA. He was predeceased by his son Richard Beliveau, Jr. and sisters Leona & Linda. He is survived by treasured nieces, nephews and friends who will sadly miss him.
A resident of Swansea for 48 years, prior to moving to Fall River in his final years.
Before retiring from Sears after 35 years in sales, he also served briefly in both the MA & CT Air National Guard in the 1960's. Although not formally educated he was highly intelligent, with a strong passion for self-education in a wide range of subjects, for which he was very proud. Despite losing his vision in later years he embraced it as a 'new adventure' and an opportunity to learn.
Richard loved the water and was a skilled sailor for 30+years. He had a deep love and appreciation for music and possessed the joy of singing with a strong and memorable voice. After his retirement he took up the flute and became an active member of the Providence Senior Citizen Orchestra for more than two decades.
Along with a passion for sailing and singing he enjoyed exploring a wide range of hobbies ranging from four-wheeling his is Jeep, study astronomy, amateur radio and working with various volunteer organizations.
Arrangements were under the direction of Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River and a celebration of life program will be planned for a later date.
