FALL RIVER – Richard Lopes, age 89, passed away on February 16, 2024 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Laura (Ferreira) Lopes for over 68 years. Throughout their enduring marriage, Laura was not only his life partner but also his favorite dance partner, highlighting the deep bond and joy they found in each other's company on the dance floor. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ruth (Medeiros) Lopes. He is predeceased by his daughter Deborah Braga and granddaughter Kelly Braga.

Along with is wife is survived by his sister Sharon Vieira and many other family members who will sadly miss him.

A visitation for Richard will be held on Wednesday, February 21st from 8:30-10 A.M. in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River. A funeral mass will follow in St. Michael's Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
