Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard J. Raposa of Fall River, who passed away on December 9, 2022, at the age of 83, surrounded by his family, who never left his side on his last days . Husband of the late Sandra L. (Vincent), and born in Fall River, son of the late John and Mary (Albernaz) Raposa. Prior to retirement, Richard worked as a machine operator for Texas Instruments for 25 years. Richard was a proud Marine Corps Reservist and weekly contributor to St. Michael's Parish. He was a life-long student of US history and its involvement in global affairs, an avid fan of classic guitar from the Deep South through Motown and Chuck Berry to a few metal bands today. Richard was the quintessential Boston Red Sox fan. Richard Raposa was the most generous man one could meet, constantly sharing 'I love you' with his family and friends. He opened his life, his home, and his resources to anyone who needed literally anything.

He will be greatly missed.

He was loved and cherished by many people including his daughters Patricia Aucello and her spouse Michael of Mystic, CT and Gina Rezendes and her spouse Christopher of S. Dartmouth; grandchildren Christopher (Harry) Rezendes, Gabrielle P. Aucello and June Catherine; as well as many other family and friends who will truly miss him. He was predeceased by his brother Andrew Raposa.

Following cremation, his memorial service will take place on December 27th at St. Michael's Church at 10:00 A.M. with an internment to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River.
