Fall River – Robert Costa, age 84, passed away on April 9 th at St. Annes Hospital .  Born in Fall Rive r, he was the son of the late Manu el A. Costa and Gertrude (Santos) Costa.  He was the loving husband of Olga M. (Almeida) C ost a.

Prior to retiring, Robert was a machinist at Fall Ri ver Tool and D i e for many years . He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox , and would watch them regularly on TV , and on occasion would attend a game with his niece and her family who called him Uncle Bob . As a hobby, Rober t enjoyed making ships in a bottle with many examples around the house . Whenever pos sible, he enjoyed going for walks around the city , especially to St. Mary ' s Cathedral . Robert was a qui et, reser ved man who enjoyed pra ying with his rosary, and adored his family and the time they sh ared together.

Besides the love of his l ife, Olga, Robert is surv ived by his son, John A. Costa and his wife Virginia of W eymo uth ; his siblings : Ruth Caouette, Theresa Porubsky, Roland Costa and John Costa ; several nieces and nephews including Anna Chaves Tavar es , her husband Alberto , and great niece Ashlyn .  He was predeceased by his siblings; Mary Medeiros, Rose Da Costa, Richard Costa, Eliza Gov eia and David Costa .

A visitation will be held on Wednesday , April 12 th from 8:30 A.M. – 10 :15 A.M. in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home , 15 21 N. Main St ., Fall River.  A Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Santo Christo Chu rch at 11:00 A.M.
