Simão Martinho, age 72, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025 at Brandon Woods Nursing Center in New Bedford. He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Natalia (Raposo) Martinho. Born in Remedios de Bretanha, São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of João and Silvana (Tavares) Martinho.

Simão dedicated most of his career to working as a spreader for Merrit Manufacturing and later concluded his career at River LTD. In between, he also served as a CNA at the Gabriel House in Fall River. He was a devoted husband and loving father who cherished spending weekends fishing with his son.

Along with his wife he was loved and cherished by many people including his son Matthew Martinho of Fall River; siblings Manuel Martinho (wife Zelia) of Swansea, Antonio Martinho (wife Donna) of Swansea, Joao Martinho (girlfriend Geri) of Fall River, Maria Lindo (late husband Manuel) of Fall River, Senhorina Almeida (husband John) of Canada, Nellie Jacob (husband Joe) of Swansea, Susy Pacheco (husband Manuel) of Berkley and the late Jose Martinho (wife Sue); as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members that will sadly miss him.
