Stephen M.
Rego

Fall River
FALL RIVER - With hearts full of love and sorrow, we share the sudden passing of Stephen M. Rego from a brief illness, who left this world far too soon at age 50, on January 27, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Born in Fall River, he was the son of Leanor (Medeiros) Rego and the late Meçias Rego.
Stephen spent most of his adult life working in construction for the union, beginning as a foreman for ET&L Construction and later at Ferreira Construction Co. Every time he drove over a bridge, he would proudly claim he built it—whether he had or not—showcasing his wonderful sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. He was specifically proud of his work in Cape Cod. He had a presence that was impossible to ignore. When he walked into a room, you truly felt his warmth, energy, and humor. His smile really could light up even the darkest of rooms. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, of keeping people laughing for hours, and of always offering a helping hand - he truly would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Stephen had a passion for collecting antiques of all kinds, particularly pocket knives and coins, and he loved hunting for trinkets and gadgets at yard sales, he would never even leave behind a good pen. He also had a deep appreciation for cars and traveling, but above all, he cherished his daughters. They were his heart, his greatest pride, and the purest source of his joy.
Along with his parents, he was loved and cherished by many people including his daughters Bianca Sinkunas Rego of Fall River and Olivia Rose Rego of FL with her mother Cindy Gouveia; brothers Michael Rego of FL and the late Derek Rego; as well as many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the kindness he showed will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His memory will be cherished forever. Your light will never fade.
Following cremation, his memorial Mass will be held at Espirito Santo Church on March 2nd at 11:30 A.M. Arrangements were under the direction of the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River.
