Susie (Proto) Souza, age 105, peacefully passed away on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025 in the comforts of her home with her loving family by her side. Born on Aug. 17, 1919 in Bristol, RI, Susie was the beloved wife of the late Constantino C. Souza for 40 years. She was also the daughter of the late Fernando Proto and the late Carmela (Fiore) Proto.

Susie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved being with her family. She had worked for Lamport Mfg. as a Cloth Inspector for many years before retiring, and was a great cook. She loved to do puzzles, and was a clothes fashionista. She also loved a good glass of fine wine.

Susie is survived by her children: Ronald J. Souza (late wife Frances) of Wareham, Frederick Souza (wife Carol) of Fall River, Deborah Davis (husband Robert) of Westport, and James Souza (wife Frances) of Bluffton, SC; grandchildren: Ronald J. Souza Jr., Christine Pancyck, Heather Smith, Frederick Souza Jr., Jonathan J. Souza, Michael J. Souza, Jamie E. Holaday; great grandchildren: Alex & Evan Pancyck, Madison Souza, Cody & Bailey Smith, Gabriella & Frederick III Souza, Jonathan J. Souza Jr., Cameron, Dominic & Francesca Holaday; many nieces & nephews. Susie was predeceased by her siblings: Joseph Proto, Kathryn Dias, Mary Hamel, Frank Proto, Antone Proto, Carmela Lima, and Gaetano Proto.

Susie's visitation will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 19th from 7:30-9:30 AM in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River with a Funeral Mass to follow at Holy Name Church at 10:00 AM. Interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
