Somerset-  Teresinha de Jesus da Silva, age 85, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 16 ^th .  Born in Faial, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Pereira and Laura (Pereira) Aguiar.  She was the wife of the late Manuel B. da Silva. ¸

Teresinha enjoyed listening to Portuguese Folklore music, cleaning, cooking and spending time with her loved ones. She especially looked forward to her Sunday lunches with her family. She adored her grandchildren and was devoted to her catholic faith. Teresinha was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she will be dearly missed.  She is survived by her children; Dalila Monteiro, Alice Carvalho and her husband Carlos and Alda Espinola; her grandchildren; Amanda Carvalho, Paul Carvalho, Jocelyn Cabral and her husband Shaun, Ashley Carvalho and her husband Milton, Brittany Monteiro, Joshua Monteiro and Katelyn Monteiro; her great grandchildren; Bella-Grace Carvalho and Jackson Cabral; her sister Idalina Santos as well as many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings; Manuel Aguiar, Carlos M. Aguiar, Odilia A. Souto, Carlos G. Aguiar and Maria E. Fialho. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the private caregivers and the team at Continuum Care Hospice.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday, October 20 ^th at 9:00 A.M.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John of God Church at 10:00 A.M.  Interment to follow at St. Patricks Cemetery, Fall River.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19 ^th from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.  To share a memory or offer a condolence please visit www.rogersfuneral.com
