Valdemar Medeiros Rego, age 70 of Somerset, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2023 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Boston with his loving family by his side. Born in Ajuda da Bretanha, Sao Miguel, Azores, Valdemar was the beloved husband of the late Marcia Maria (Farias) Rego and the son of the late Manuel do Rego and the late Mariana de Medeiros.

Prior to retiring, Valdemar worked as an Assembler for Lightolier Mfg. in Fall River.
He was a soft-spoken simple man whose sole purpose was making sure his wife and children were taken care of. He was a faithful  husband, a caring father and a loving VoVo to all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was loved by all of his nieces and nephews.

Valdemar could make an entire room belly laugh with one of his many jokes and silly faces. He devoted his last three years caring for his beautiful wife, Marcia, who depended on him. He showed a noble way of the true description of a marriage. It was clearly too difficult to be here without his soulmate. As devastated as we are to lose such a warmhearted dad, we find true peace in knowing our beautiful parents are together again.

Valdemar is survived by his 2 children: Val Rego and Michelle Rego (Garrett Peters) both of Somerset; grandchildren: Makayla Medeiros (Helio Medeiros), Gavin Peters, Maddox Peters, Connor Rego, Joscelynn Rego, Victoria Rego, and Marshall Rego; great grandchildren: Adriana Medeiros, Mason Medeiros, and Olivia Medeiros; siblings: Antonio Rego, Manuel Rego, Maria Rego, and the late João Rego; nieces & nephews.
